Ryan Potesta

Based in Los Angeles, Ryan Potesta is a multi-instrumentalist composer, producer and engineer scoring and music producing for projects ranging from theatrical feature films (Here Are the Young Men, starring Anya Taylor Joy and Dean-Charles Chapman), to contributing to network Television mini-series like WB's Kappa Kappa Die.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Ryan is a founding member of the alternative rock band Magnets & Ghosts. Together with co-founder Dean Roland (Collective Soul), they launched their debut album Mass in 2011 to much acclaim. They followed up in 2014 with their genre transcending EP Be Born. Since then, they have seen placements on multiple productions on the Discovery Channel, as well as NBC’s The Nightshift, and feature films: Running With The Devil, and Here Are the Young Men.

Now Potesta focusses on film and television, working both as a lead-composer but also as a performer and engineer for other composers such as Mychael and Jeff Danna. Ryan’s latest film Grey Elephant (directed by Eoin Macken) is due for a 2021 release. He is currently scoring the feature documentary Refuge.
