Shamanoid

Stefan Mears, from the UK, began producing live electronica and playing live shows in London in 1992. His first album (1994), specialised in ambient, soundscape and early IDM. Since then he has produced 5 albums and featured on many compilation albums specializing in ambient, dub, industrial, techno, breaks, drum n bass, IDM, world beat, electro, techno and trance.

Accompanying his studio works he toured (continuously for the last 10 years) as a live act across Asia (Japan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Bali), the Americas (Guatemala, Mexico, US, Canada), UK and most of Western Europe. Mostly featuring at international festivals as an electronic dance act. During this decade of travels Stefan absorbed much of this world influence and incorporated into his recent music.

Stefan has produced under many names and aliases, but most recent is his ShaMANoiD project. A blend of acoustic tribal and ethnic instruments mixed with cutting edge electronica; Free-styling across all the progressive electronica genres.  His music takes you anywhere, from a dark and twisted state to an enlightened emotion. From futuristic or sci-fi worlds to ancient tribal world music. From deep states of meditation and relaxation to heightened states of energy and dance.

Stefan also specializes in 5.1 surround sound. Most of his music is available in mind-blowing surround sound: A perfect accompaniment to film, digital TV, and multimedia applications.

As an additional note: Stefan established and organised the SomaSoundSystem from 1999-2008. This was an outdoor audio and visual festival production in Central America. Events held at sacred sites in Mexico and Guatemala, such as on Mayan temples, inside sacred caves (Cenotes), volcanoes, jungles, deserts and other archaeological zones. Musicans, Djs, and other audio and visual artists performed at spectacular locations to coincide with full moons, equinoxes, eclipses and other important dates.
